Why every role publishes a salary band
The one rule that decides whether a listing can go live at all.
Pay transparency is a product rule, not a setting. It exists so you stop spending three interviews to discover a role does not pay enough.
What counts as a genuine band
- A real range you intend to honour, not a placeholder.
- Base salary, with superannuation or equity noted separately.
- Updated on the listing if the range changes mid-process.
If a band changes
Candidates who have already applied are notified when a band is revised, and the change is recorded on the listing. Publishing a band you do not intend to honour is a breach of the Acceptable Use Policy.
